About
One person, start to finish.
Monolith is a studio of one. You talk to the person designing and building your site, not an account manager.
Hi, I’m Dexter Bell.
I’m a Bribie Island local, and I’ve been building websites for four years. I’m currently studying ICT at TAFE, which keeps me learning alongside the work.
What I love most is the process of creating a digital presence for someone: getting to know a person or a business, working out what makes them who they are, and building a site that shows it.
What a one-person studio means for you
- You talk to the maker. The person you explain your business to is the person who designs and builds the site. Nothing gets lost in a handover.
- One standard, start to finish. The same hands set the type, write the code and test it on a phone with a screen reader.
- Honest about scope. I take on work I can do properly, and I’ll tell you plainly if a package or a feature isn’t the right fit.
How I work
Craft
Clubs, venues, cafés, makers, musicians and local brands usually choose between a cheap template and nothing. I make sites that feel like they came from a top international studio: considered type, real motion, details that make people stay.
Performance
Showpiece sites are often slow. Mine are built to load fast on an ordinary phone on a mobile connection, because that’s where most of your visitors are.
Accessibility
Every site works with a keyboard, a screen reader and reduced motion, with readable contrast. It’s part of the build, not an extra.
Where I am
I’m based on Bribie Island, in Moreton Bay. I work with businesses and organisations across South East Queensland (Moreton Bay, the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane) and beyond.
